80 and Over Celebration

Worship
The majority, if not all ministries at Lake Nokomis hover around a sense of community and family. Whether you have your own family with you on Sunday morning, or are a guest in worship, you are a part of a family. And worship is a great way to build that relationship. Worship begins at 10:45 am each Sunday. Throughout the year, there are other worship offerings to participate in.
Additionally, serving in worship together is a family is another way to grow in relationship with one another. If you are interest in service in worship, either contact Duke Borgerding: [email protected], or if you are ready to dive in, please fill out the form below. Faith and Life Conversations
About every other month, Lake Nokomis Lutheran holds a Faith and Life Conversation. This may be a one time event for the month, or a series of talks based on a topic. Occasionally there are speakers sharing a story or a perspective on the community and on the world.

Wednesday Programming
Wednesday evenings are pretty active at Lake Nokomis: The evening starts with Open Gym, open to everyone in the neighborhood. There are pizza and board games. Kids Mindfulness
and music happens on Wednesday nights. Sometimes there monthly timely and important discussions presented. Of course, you can be involved in one of our music ensembles as well. We think there is something for everyone on Wednesdays, and you can participate in all of it as a family. 80 and Over Celebration
A beloved tradition at Lake Nokomis is to care for and celebrate our elders who are at least 80 years young. This event takes place in April or May, and is intergenerational. You can see the gallery below of this year's celebration.

Discussions on the Deck
Discussions on the Deck are monthly gatherings at someone's home, and of course, on their deck, where discussions around social justice take place. This can be done through articles, media, music, and movies. DOTD will start up again in the spring of 2026. Stay tuned for updates.
