Congregation calls Pastor Sara Spohr as Senior Pastor
The Transition Team wrote the Ministry Site Profile. The Synod recommended candidates. The Call Committee met candidates, guided by the Ministry Site Profile and led by the Holy Spirit, and agreed upon a final call candidate. And on Sunday, June 28, the congregation voted to call Pastor Sara Spohr as Senior Pastor at Lake Nokomis Lutheran Church.
Pastor Sara is currently Associate Pastor at Roseville Lutheran Church in Roseville, MN in the St. Paul Area Synod, where she has served since 2014. Before that she served as Associate Pastor at Southwood Lutheran Church in Lincoln, NE; as Director of Youth and Family Ministry at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria, MN; as Youth Director at Grace Lutheran Church in St. Paul, MN; and as a Summer Staff Counselor and Trip Leader at Luther Crest Bible Camp in Alexandria, MN.
Call Committee member, Sarah Borgerding notes, “We look forward to Pastor Sara's engaging sermons, her gifts of creativity, her strengths of leadership and community building, and the joy she brings to those around her. We expect a start date in early September and will share specifics as they are finalized.
“We’re excited for you to meet her! Before September we will find ways to introduce Pastor Sara to LNL. Stay tuned for opportunities to get to know her.”
Thanks to the Call Committee members for their faithful work: Kathryn Selin, John Walsh, Jerry Winzig, Jenny Dowzak, Sarah Borgerding, Steve Schou, David Walker, Keith Atkinson, and Laurie Zaepfel.
